Cloud Catalog #129.

From "The Beastie Boys Are Back In Town" by Joe Levy - Rolling Stone, August 6, 1998

Ad-Rock: "I'm trapped in the past," he says, joking. It's a joke he makes often. "I love the early days," he says, faintly smiling, which is the expression he wears almost all of the time. "I guess everybody would like to be able to go back to the early days with all the knowledge you have now. And, of course, if I was in the early days, I'd be saying, 'I can't wait for the later days.' But you get nostalgic for that shit. There was nothing to do but hang out. It was good times. I was a lucky kid. I still definitely get to hang out, but it's not the same kind of hanging out. And, you know, I just get nostalgic. The changing times and shit. I get nostalgic for Atari. You know what I'm saying? For a cheeseburger. You know? But they're all still within reach. It's not that big of a deal. I'll manage. Be all right."

Horovitz's mom died before the release of Licensed to Ill, and I felt for him when he said this:

"It would have been nice for her to be alive and to see some of the stuff that I've learned. She always knew there was more going on with me than just being a fuck-up. And it would have been nice for her to see that she wasn't just dreaming that up. But, you know, what can you do? That's life. That's why life sucks."

Cloud Catalog #128.

Great tribute to the B-Boys from Chuck D way back in 1998. I teared up a bit when MCA made his speech about the war. Such a brave and admirable man.

Then I laughed hard when Ad-Rock spoke to express his love for his mom and girlfriend (?). I really love his arrogant face.

Cloud Catalog #127.

It's a few minutes past 8 PM and I would just like to raise a toast to the month that was, the very moment where Ayn and I were exactly a month ago, in a crowd of thousands of people, facing the stage where our favorite band of all time was performing, the ground shaking as everyone moshed to the music, and Ayn and I felt that all the stress was worth it, that we were there, that we chose to be there.

CRAZY 4 RADIOHEAD 4 EVER!

Cloud Catalog #126.

Posting it here so I won't forget to download the album once it's out. Woohoo! Love The Soft Pack and their debut so much.

Cloud Catalog #125.

With or without savings, I'm still a huge fan. I can't tell you how holding this and looking through the inlay made me so happy!

Forever beastie boy! And yeah, missing MCA. :(

Cloud Catalog #124.

See, I've been pretty messed up recently and more often than not I'm in a bad mood, but somehow I'm trying to get past these ill feelings and thoughts. I managed to sleep before midnight as promised, but I woke up so early, at around 5, I think. I decided to listen to Paul's Boutique and felt how Beastie Boys always make me feel happy.

I still believe that their concert in Glasgow in 1999 is the BEST GIG EVER in the entire history of music. No exaggeration. The set list. The crazy audience. Master Mike. Their white polos and tie. Everything is so perfect. I watched the gig again and wet myself as I flailed in my room.

Oh, what I'd pay to be in that audience! I texted Ali that one of my fondest thoughts is imagining that both of us attended the fateful 1996 gig of Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters, and Sonic Youth in Manila. She a forever foo fighter, me a forever beastie boy. But we were just a kid then. Hay, life. BUT SOMEDAY, even though MCA is dead and sorely missed, I WILL SEE BEASTIE BOYS LIVE AND MOSH MY LIFE AWAY.

I broke my earphones, so I'd probably buy another one huhu. In Quiapo, that is. Fakers.

Cloud Catalog #123.

Just got home from two tiring job interviews. The first I had to write an essay and I picked writing about the filthy GMA, and the second I was asked to design a flyer. What the fuck is happening to my life?

I don't know, really. I don't know if I like getting the jobs I applied for. But one thing's for sure: I need money so bad.

Anyway, I feel like Jenna typing all of this. And speaking of Jenna...

MATTY!!! Why is Matty so hard to resist? Huhuhu

Cloud Catalog #121.

In the past few months, too many things have been happening and too many things have NOT been happening, so I might as well return here to keep my sanity intact. God, I'm a mess, and I hope it changes anytime soon.

Time to set goals! OK, for tomorrow, sleep before midnight. BEFORE MIDNIGHT! I can do this, bit by bit, then I will rant my life away.

All right. For now:

FINALLY COMPLETE!

Hay, I wish my life is this easy (relatively) to piece together. Bought "Alligator" and "A Skin, A Night/The Virginia EP" at White Wabbit in Taipei. Which reminds me, WAAH I MISS TAIPEI I WANT TO SEE RADIOHEAD AGAINNN

Cloud Catalog #118.

Definitely not a hipster.

(Yay on the bargain book!)
(Yay on Pedicab's new EP!)

Cloud Catalog #117.

This is one of those mornings when I stalk a guy wearing a short shorts and whose legs and back thigh look so damn attractive I feel the urgent need to see his face or I'd die. So I follow him secretly as he walks, trying to kill myself at the intersection but still catching up on his steps, and when I finally manage to take a clever turn and arrive ahead of his direction I look at him and through his face. Not bad. Not as handsome as I thought, but not bad either. Beautiful contours on his face and lovely stubble. The beefy arms and legs are bonus. I walk back to the office like a creep.

Sing with me: "And if a Cubao-Ibabaw bus...crashes into us... To die by your side is such a heavenly way to die."

Been trying so hard to write a sober review of the Morrissey experience in Manila. Hoping I'd come up with something good. I'm not sure how long will I bask in the afterglow, though.

Cloud Catalog #112.

New loot!

Needless to say, I'm poor again :'( Please gimme some money, gaiz.

Cloud Catalog #111.

Rain or shine, I wouldn't miss this for the world. Pupil at 70s Bistro:

I just woke up and I'm still high with adrenaline rush from last night's mindblowing set. They performed a lot of songs from Beautiful Machines (Kalawakaaaaaaaan!) and three covers, the most notable of which is Under Pressure during the encore! Also, SUPERPROXY. I didn't cry but I swear my eyes were about to fall off.

They actually opened with Disconnection Notice...

Their set started past midnight and finished close to 2 AM. I was itching to have a picture taken with Ely, alone that I was, but I hesitated after realizing how daunting it would be. Then I went to the CR and saw him there--golly, my chance--but still hesitated because I had a feeling he was really tired and would like nothing else but a fan encounter in the washroom.

Anyway, my knees were about to give up, so as soon as I bought the Archipelago CD from Yani (I made a joke which he didn't get, unfortunately), I hopped into a cab and went straight to Bolix and Sherwin's flat in Eastwood. I ate like a pig, downed a glass of beer, and talked in what seemed like for ever. Thank you, Bolix. What a night. Also, Japandroiiiiidsss!
